What is Modular-Lab?
Modular-Lab is a versatile technology for the development and production of radiopharmaceuticals such as PET and SPECT Tracers and other radiopharmaceuticals. Consisting of individual small modules (13 x 7.5 x 13 cm) which can be stacked on top of each other, the Modular-Lab can be used with a variety of different nuclides and is therefore a multi-purpose device.
A typical configuration comes with a Peltier Reactor Module as main unit, surrounded by a number of different valve modules and vial holder modules. All modules are interconnected by BUS cables for power supply and data transfer. From one of these modules a BUS cable goes out of the hot cell to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) cabinet. A Laptop containing the Modular-Lab software is also connected to the PLC.
Modular-Lab meets all the relevant regulatory standards to enable the production of radiopharmaceutical-grade compounds for human use. These standards include: cGMP, GAMP4 certificate, 21 CFR part 11, GMP compliant IQ/OQ, TSE certificate (free from Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy), a Backup and Recovery Procedure by using an external PLC controller, detailed Maintenance Plan, etc.. It offers the highest protection of humans, equipment and environment.
